Project planning for the renovation of the HVAC systems in the Chemicum building underway (30.11.2010)

The project planning for the renovation of the building at A. I. Virtasen aukio 1 on the Kumpula Campus is underway. The project will include a new cooling system and a renovation of the fume hood ventilation system. A Workplace Analysis will be conducted in the facilities, and any changes discovered in the use of the facilities will be considered in the project.

The HVAC renovation will cover all 10,600 NSM of the building. The building will be in use throughout the renovation process and the project will be organised in stages so that the renovations will caus a minimum of disturbance to the use of the other facilities in the buildings. The project will be carried out in stages beginning in the winter of 2012, and the entire project will take two to three years. The overall duration of the project cannot be estimated before the basic solutions of the planning process have been established.
